Queer Cinema presents: Autumn programme update + new collaborations

Hey wonderful LGBTQ+ community, queer family, friends, supporters & allies,

We have joined forces with Newham Poetry group, an active community initiative. Find enclosed our updated programme. Three more sessions to go; one in October and two in November. Also, due to public demand and Lesflicks amazingness, we're holding another session on "Women loving women"  on Saturday 2nd November; 40 participants were keen on meeting again soon to carry on exploring many of the topics that came up during our first session. We have a new venue, more chairs, extra cake and vegan gummies; what's not to like.

Queer Cinema presents: Women loving women (curated by Lesflicks)

Whether we identify as lesbian, bisexual or queer women or as non-binary babes one thing unites us - the struggle to be visible, to be equal, to be ourselves and to see ourselves represented on screen. Occasionally we get to create a space where we are the majority and we can just be ourselves - today is one of those days!

Join our friendly and community centred session. Short films (45 minutes of shorts curated by LesFlicks) + guest speakers + interactive discussions (joining is optional). Refreshments provided.

QueerBee is a new platform for LGBTQI shorts, established to help queer filmmakers bring authentic queer stories directly to new audiences. Programme 1 explores ‘identity’; when we know ourselves to be something entirely different from the available models of gender, sexuality and love, our identities often take us into unmapped territories.
