Queer Newham is a local initiative to raise awareness on gender equality and support the well-being of the LGBTQA+ community in Newham (east London).
Interactive, creative sessions at with LGBTQ+ poets and writers part of Newham Word Festival
The project welcomes residents, artists, writers, poets and supporters to celebrate the diversity in Newham. During the sessions participants will hear about our guests’ writing experience and will be encouraged to create their own short pieces. These will be displayed publicly, with the authors’ consent, at the two notice boards at Stratford Park. Queer Salsa is an empowering, consent-based and body positive session. Let’s celebrate our wonderful bodies, connect with others, unleash our creative self, learn something new (or refresh what you already know), have fun and potentially feel fabulous. Come and join us in a safe and friendly environment. No dance experience necessary. You are welcome to come alone, paired or with a group.
